United Healthcare Coverage Availability & Fees

United Healthcare (UHC) offers several different dental plans, each of which comes with its own set of fees, stipulations, and coverage levels. Here are some general notes about the coverage you might enjoy:

Many UHC plans offer 100% coverage for preventive services, including cleanings, exams, and routine X-rays.
You may receive up to 80% coverage for basic services, such as fillings. (Some UHC plans start out with lower levels of coverage, which increase to 80% after you hold your policy for a certain length of time.)
Coverage for major services, such as crowns, can be as high as 50% under certain UHC plans. (Again, if you are new to your policy, your coverage levels may be lower.)

Your plan is also likely to enforce an annual maximum, which is the highest amount that UHC will pay for approved services in a calendar year. Since we are in-network with United Healthcare, we have a contract that manages fees. Therefore, you can get more value out of your plan than if you visited an out-of-network provider.

In some cases, we can even schedule major treatments across calendar years. This may allow you to use two annual maximums instead of just one.
